I live in West Yorkshire, having moved from my native Birmingham in the late 90's. My work regularly takes me all over the UK, Europe, and Scandinavia, with occasional visits to Japan and Russia.
I have now worked as a lighting designer for more than 30 years.
Having got the lighting bug while in school, I got my first “real” lighting job in 1978 with the Birmingham progressive rock band Magnum. I must have done something right, as 34 years later, I still design and operate for them.
I am a member of both the Association of British Theatre Technicians and the Production Services Association, and hold Professional Designer status with the Association of Lighting Designers.
I make extensive use of Cast WYSIWYG & Capture Polar software for pre visualization and plotting, which save valuable time on site and allows clients to see the end result before a single lamp is hung.
